Just take my Spotify playlists

So, I'm a big music listener, something that's not just common to me. Really, a large percentage of my grade, and all teenagers, I imagine, use a streaming service like Spotify or YouTube to listen to music.

I do all sorts of things with music; I do my homework while listening to sick beats, play basketball with my family while rocking out, I even fall asleep on car rides with music. (mainly to tune out everything else)

And the fact that we can just have a streaming service, pay a couple dollars a month, and listen to whatever the heck we want whenever we want to, is really quite an amazing feat. Imagine having to BUY an ALBUM or BURN a CD, gosh.

A credit to the music industry, really, that they gave up this profit-driven music sale model for streaming and more consumer friendly methods.

Anyway, my first memories of actually listening to music for fun would probably be in elementary school, while working on a FLL (First Lego League) robot for the FLL competitions. Me and two of my friends made up a team (we, after much deliberation, decided to call ourselves the DuckStormers, partially inspired by the Duck Song) and we would listen to movie soundtracks as we worked. You know, Star Wars, Harry Potter, et cetera. We listened to the Imperial March quite religiously, for one.

At that point, actual pop songs didn't appeal to me that much. Obviously, soundtracks were superior. But at some point in middle school, my opinion started changing. I was again on an different FLL team, having moved, with some of my new friends, and we would put on songs as we worked. I didn't really like any of them at first, but one in particular, Heathens by Twenty-One Pilots, kind of grew on me.

That song became my entry into more lyrical songs, and from that point, I've branched into a lot of music genres. I listen to practically everything. Still lots of soundtracks, from movies or video game remixes like Pokemon. (GlitchxCity is one of my favorite artists for video game remixes, Hanz Zimmer for movie tracks)

Also tons of pop songs, from any time or style, although I'd have to say Imagine Dragons is my favorite artist in that area. Their songs are consistently good and they don't need to resort to vulgarity to make awesome lyrics.

Also a LOT of Indian music. I'm Indian, (Sikh to be precise) if I haven't mentioned already, and I'm a big fan of Bollywood music. As for my favorite artist, that would of course be Arijit Singh.

Anyway, to the actual point. My playlists.

Here's my main playlist called "Nihal's Notes", which I keep a complete list of all the songs I like. I don't really remove songs from it, so it's grown into a sprawling giant list with lots of throwbacks.

Here's my Bollywood song playlist, collaborative with my brother.

And here's my On Repeat playlist, which will give to a good idea of which songs are currently stuck in my head.

Hope you either enjoy/hate my taste in music, and rock out!
